I Live Truth LLC (“we,” “our,” “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Log & Taper It! mobile application (“the App”) handles personal information. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t. The App is designed to operate entirely offline; it does not collect, store, transmit, or share any data with us or with third parties.

This policy applies only to the Log & Taper It! app published by I Live Truth LLC. It does not cover any other products, websites, or services we may offer.

3. Data Collection and Usage

3.1 Local-Only Operation (Default)

By default, the App operates entirely offline:

  • All user-entered data stays on your device
  • No account creation required for basic functionality
  • No personal data collected for offline use
  • All entries and settings remain in your device's local storage

3.2 Optional Premium Features

3.2.1 Subscription Without Account (Mobile Only)

You can purchase premium features directly through mobile app stores without creating an account:

  • Premium features unlock immediately via your app store purchase
  • No email or personal information required
  • All data remains local to your device
  • Device identifiers are used only to validate your subscription

3.2.2 Optional Data Sync Account (All Platforms)

If you want to sync data across devices, you can optionally create an account:

Account Information (Optional - Only for Data Sync):

  • Email address (for account creation and sync management)
  • User account identifiers (generated when you create an account)
  • Device identifiers (to link your account across devices)

Data Synchronization (Entirely Optional):

  • Your locally stored app data (logs, preferences, settings) can be encrypted and stored on our secure servers
  • This enables access to your data on multiple devices
  • Account creation is only required if you want data sync
  • Sync can be disabled at any time from your account settings
  • You can delete your sync account while keeping your subscription

Subscription Data (Automatically Collected for Premium Users):

  • Purchase history and subscription status (processed through Google Play, Apple App Store, or Stripe)
  • Subscription tier, status, and expiration dates
  • Platform of purchase
  • Payment information is processed by third-party payment processors - we do not store credit card information

4. How We Use Your Information

App Functionality: To enable premium features and cross-device data synchronization

Account Management: To create and manage sync accounts (optional feature only)

Subscription Validation: To verify premium access and link subscriptions across devices

Security and Fraud Prevention: To prevent subscription abuse and ensure legitimate access

Customer Support: To respond to your questions and provide technical assistance

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We share limited data with the following third-party services:

  • Payment Processors: Google Play, Apple App Store, and Stripe receive subscription and device information for billing and subscription validation
  • Cloud Storage: Secure cloud infrastructure stores encrypted sync data (only for users who enable data sync)

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with other third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Data Security

  • All synced data is encrypted in transit and at rest
  • We implement industry-standard security practices
  • Your device's operating system provides primary security for locally stored data
  • Premium account data is stored on secure, encrypted servers

7. Your Rights and Controls

  • Data Export: Users with sync accounts can export their synced data
  • Opt-out: You can disable data sync while keeping premium features
  • Local Operation: You can always use the app in offline-only mode
  • Subscription Management: Manage subscriptions through your app store (Google Play, Apple App Store) or Stripe customer portal

8. Data Retention

  • Local data: Stored on your device until you delete the app or clear its data
  • Sync account data: Retained while your sync account is active
  • Synced data: Deleted within 30 days of sync account deletion
  • Subscription data: Retained as required for tax and legal compliance (even if sync account is deleted)
  • Device identifiers: Retained while subscription is active for validation purposes

9. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

This policy complies with applicable privacy laws including GDPR, CCPA, and other regional privacy regulations.

11. Changes to This Policy

We will notify users of material changes via:

  • In-app notification
  • Email notification (for account holders)
  • App store listing updates
    Changes take effect 30 days after notification.
